Attending the AMAM / LokoAssist Symposium 2025

I’m excited to share that I’ll be heading to Darmstadt this July for the AMAM / LokoAssist Symposium 2025! The event takes place at TU Darmstadt from July 7th to 11th, and I’m really looking forward to meeting researchers from all over the world who are working on adaptive motion in animals and machines, as well as assistive robotics.

During the symposium, I’ll be presenting a poster based on our recent preliminary work:

“On the Importance of Muscle Activity for an Exoskeleton to Rehabilitate Temporomandibular Disorders”

This research highlights the crucial role of muscle activity in developing effective jaw exoskeletons for rehabilitation, leveraging virtual jaw models and EMG-based sensing to help guide therapy and keep things safe for patients. Our results show that muscle activity is a useful key indicator of stress and load in the jaw, and integrating EMG sensors into jaw exoskeletons could improve both safety and effectiveness for rehabilitation.

I’m looking forward to discussing these ideas, learning from others, and maybe even checking out the Robot Zoo demo session! If you’re interested in the details, you can find more about the symposium on their official website.

If you’d like to read the abstract, you can find it on my publications page.
